Every month I anxiously await the arrival of my Ipsy glam bag to see what new beauty goodies I will be able to try out. This month’s theme was Beauty Candy and I have to say that I am in love with the bag the products came in this month. It reminds me of a chocolate bar and it is so adorable, isn’t it?
The first product that I pulled out was the Nicole by OPI nail polish in the colour On a Gilt Trip. Not only is the name amazing, the colour is pretty great too. It is a gold polish with tons of fine, golden shimmers. What’s interesting about this shade is that you would expect the shimmers to be quite shiny, but actually when this nail polishes dries it goes to more of a matte looking finish. It’s a very intriguing formula and I can’t wear to wear this for the holiday season coming up!
Next item was the Epice Purifying Exfoliator and I am always happy to try new exfoliating products. I have quite dry skin, so exfoliating on the regular is a must for me. This one has tons of what I can only explain as “micro-grit” which really polishes and refines the skin. A little bit of this goes a long way and it really helped with any uneven texture in my skin and made it feel really smooth. This product was definitely a hit for me!
The next beauty product I pulled out was this adorable little lipstick sample. The shade is Deeply In Mauve (cute name, right?) and it is by the brand Noyah. It is a mauvey-brown lipstick that unfortunately does not suit my very fair complexion. I have never been able to pull off mauvey or brown lipsticks but the formula is very creamy and glides on beautifully. I’m interested to see what other shades they carry!
I am not a fan of receiving body or hand lotions in these bags because scents are so subjective to each individual. The Ayres Patagonia Body Butter has a really light texture and when you open it you can definitely smell the herbally scent. It has jasmine and essential oils which is supposed to give you a “sense of calm” as the website states, but personally I am just not a fan. I am very picky when it comes to fragrances and this is just too strong for me personally. It also didn’t moisturize my skin as much as I thought it would as it’s a body butter, so this was a pass for me.
The last item in the bag was the Model Co. VolumEyes mascara and you know this girl needs all the help she can get in the lash department. I have very sparse, short lashes and love trying out new mascaras and am always on the hunt for new ones. I unfortunately have too many mascaras open at the moment that I need to finish but I will definitely use this in the future and let you know my thoughts on it!
If you are interested in trying out Ipsy for yourself (only $10 a month) you can sign up on their website here and treat yourself to some new beauty products every month!
