It seems like it has been forever since I have shared a makeup look and it feels great to be getting back into creating them again. I was inspired to do this look from a new eyeshadow that I picked up from Shopper’s Drug Mart recently and couldn’t wait to play around with it. It’s not new by any means, but it is such a stunning colour and perfect for Autumn. I hope to create some more looks in the near future, so please let me know if you enjoy these posts!
Easy Autumnal Eyes
I always start off by priming my lids with MAC Painterly Paint Pot. It’s a light pink-beige shade that helps colour correct my lids and of course, keep my eyeshadow in place. We don’t want our look moving around throughout the day, right? After priming, I went in with my first shade which is MAC Haux, a rosy brown, and blended that into my crease. On top of that shade, I went in with a bit of Wedge, a light brown, just to help the blending process.
Now for the star of the show! When I saw this shade on display I couldn’t get over how gorgeous it was and had to have it. I’m sure many of you have seen or heard of this shade before and it’s L’Oreal’s Infallible eyeshadow in 557 Glistening Garnet – my oh my is it pretty! It’s a berry toned pink with a shimmer finish and I applied it with a damp brush all over the lid which really made it shine. These shadows are fantastic and so pigmented!
Then to darken the outer corner of the eye, I applied Makeup Geek’s Corrupt eyeshadow to give the look a bit of depth. I took the same shade and applied that along my the outer part of my lower lashline, and took Glistening Garnet again and applied it to the middle and swept it into the inner part of the eye. For a bit of extra shine, I used MAC Nylon on the inner corner.
Now onto liner! I have been loving the Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen for a while now as it has such a precise felt tip which makes creating a cat eye super easy. For the waterline, I went in with the Sephora Waterproof Retractable Eyeliner in Glitter Copper which is seriously gorgeous – you need this! Lastly, I applied my favourite Guerlain mascara, went in with some individual Ardell eyelashes as I am trying to get better at using them, and filled in my brows with Benefit’s Goof Proof Brow Pencil.
It seems like quite a few steps, but it truly didn’t take me long at all to achieve these easy autumnal eyes! You can even choose to skip some of the steps to make the process even simpler.
