MAC recently released In Extra Dimension, a collection of 18 stunning eyeshadows and I cannot begin to tell you how happy this makes me. The first Extra Dimension eyeshadow to grace my makeup bag was from their Alluring Aquatics collection in the shade Lorelei and it is my favourite MAC eyeshadow to date. I was lucky enough to receive two beautiful eyeshadows from this new collection and am very excited to share them with you!
The formula of the Extra Dimension shadows is truly a breeze to work with as they have a lovely soft texture and blend beautifully. They are a very versatile product as you can apply them dry for a more sheer effect, or wet to really bring the intensity. I was awestruck when I saw the complete line-up of shades released and each colour is just as beautiful as the next. I have a few on my wishlist that I need to pick up ASAP.
Silver Sun is a silver with a stunning metallic finish. It is said to have a greenish undertone, but I personally don’t see that come across on the eyes. When applied wet, the metallic finish really comes forth and just screams “look at me!”. This shadow will be my new go-to on a night out!
Rich Core is described by MAC as a dirty aubergine and is a deep purple with red undertones. It is quite an interesting shade that is hard to describe. I don’t have any shades similar to this in my collection so I am very happy to have it as a new addition. Applying this eyeshadow wet over a black base really brings out the beautiful red shimmer.
I really wanted to show you just how gorgeous these eyeshadows are, so I created a look using both of the shades. It’s really dark and smudgy and has a halo effect in the center of the lid which brightens up the look. Both eyeshadows were applied wet so you can really see how rich and intense they can be. I know the look won’t be for everyone, but I am all about having fun with different colours and techniques. I mean why not?
