I still cannot believe that another year has flown by and that it is January already. For this post I thought I’d round up my most popular blog posts from the year 2012, and give you a little overview of each post as well. So, let’s not keep you waiting- here’s my top 12 posts!
#1. Jennifer Lopez Oscars 2012 Inspired Eye Makeup
This was my most viewed post for 2012. If you watched the Oscars this year then you probably saw how amazing Jennifer Lopez’s makeup was. She looked absolutely phenomenal, and as soon as I saw her makeup I knew I had to re-create it. I really loved how it was different than your usual neutral eye as it had a winged out crease and crisp liner.
#2. Nicki Minaj Beez In The Trap Inspired Makeup
This was my most popular eye makeup look in 2012. I have always loved Nicki Minaj’s makeup. It’s bright, bold, unique and easily achievable This look was from her Beez In The Trap music video that was released this year. Nicki usually wears looks similar to this very often but switches up the colours to keep it different.
#3. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter Review and Swatches
You all know about this product and probably have quite a few that have accumulated in your makeup stash (I know I do). This was definitely one of the most hyped products of the year and for good reason. They are pigmented, glide effortlessly across the lips, and give you that perfect amount of colour to your lips without being a lipstick.
#4. Makeup Geek Review & Swatches
The lovely ladies at Makeup Geek were nice enough to send me some of their eyeshadows to try, and I cannot believe how amazing they are! These shadows are pigmented, blendable, and best of all… affordable! I am really impressed with the MUG makeup line and urge you to try them out if you haven’t already. You won’t be disappointed!
#5. Lime Crime Review & Makeup Look
Bright, sparkly unicorn packaging… need I say more? These fun, bright products are known by all. My review was on the Lime Crime Magic Dusts, Opaque Lipstick in Coquette, and their oh so amazing set of Uniliners. Their liquid eyeliners come in the most unique colours I have ever seen, and I absolutely love them. Lime Crime is always coming out with new and amazing products so you need to check them out!
#6. Nicki Minaj I Am Your Leader Inspired Makeup
This was my re-creation of Nicki’s look from her I Am Your Leader music video. It is a fun, sparkly purple eye and is extremely eye catching. You’re bound to be noticed by all rocking this makeup look. This has to be one of my favourite looks I have ever done.
#7. Nicki Minaj The Boys Inspired Makeup
Do you like the colour pink and tons of glitter? Than this Nicki Minaj look is for you! This is a sparkly, girly pink makeup look with black winged out liner and false lashes. You could definitely use this look for Valentines day coming up- it couldn’t be more perfect!
#8. Angel Contacts Review and Giveaway
I was given the opportunity to try something that I’ve never tried before- circle lenses! I’ve been a long time contact lens wearer and had always wanted to try coloured contacts. These however are different than your traditional colour contacts as these make your eyes look much bigger and come in a variety of different patterns and colours. I was even fortunate enough to be able to give away a pair to one of my readers, my first giveaway on my blog!
#9. Navy & Gold Eye Makeup
This was a makeup look I created using a very affordable makeup palette by Wet n Wild. Blue eyeshadow can sometimes be very hard to pay off, but I really love how this look turned out and you guys did as well!
#10. Spring Fling Eye Makeup
I was inspired by all of the gorgeous colours of spring; from the flowers, sky, trees and grass this look definitely screams Spring!
#11. Summer Party Look
This is the look I created that was perfect for a party or get together in the summer. It’s bright and fun and is different than your regular eye makeup. This is sure to turn lots of heads and is absolutely stunning. This is another one of my favourite makeup looks I have ever created.
#12. Emerald Eyes For Fall
Smokey, smoldering emerald eyes? Yes, please! This look is perfect for fall, or even as a colourful smokey eye to wear on a night out. I used Silk Naturals eye shadows to create this look (if you haven’t checked out SN yet you really need to) and I have worn this makeup look on more than a few occasions and always get compliments on it!
