Ready To Glow

Get ready to glow this Spring with this gorgeous line up of products! Read more on TheBeautyCollective.com

If you have been a follower of my blog for a while then you know how much of a fan I am of dewy skin. I’m always looking for new products to give me that gorgeous lit from within look and what better time than now? Spring has finally sprung, and I am hopeful that the warmer weather will soon follow, so I am ready to pull out all the stops and wanted to share some of my top picks.

Primer

I’m a huge fan of luminous primers and have recently fallen in love with the Becca Backlight Priming Filter. It is a light champagne shade that gives the skin a really beautiful sheen. What makes this primer a winner in my books is that it doesn’t have that slippery silicone feeling that most primers do. The formula is more nourishing as it’s infused with Vitamin E and feels more like a light moisturizer which is perfect for my drier skin. It’s texture is similar to the Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer which I’ve used religiously for a long time but appears more natural on the skin.

Base

I have professed my love for the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation on the blog before (review) and I am still just as in love with it today as I was the first time I used it. This is the only foundation that I have tried to date that gives me a gorgeous glowing complexion and doesn’t exacerbate any drier areas on the face. This foundation does have tiny flecks of shimmer in it so it certainly won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but I personally love the way it makes my skin look.

Blush

Cream blushes are a staple for me as they give a pretty pop of colour to the cheeks while still looking natural on the skin. Make Up Forever and Bobbi Brown make my favourite cream blushes to date, with NYX coming in just after. These blushes are very versatile as they can be applied with fingertips for a more sheer look, with a brush for a bolder effect and some can even be doubled up as a lipstick. They leave the skin looking fresh and dewy and are a dry-skinned gal’s best friend.

Highlight

Now onto everyone’s favourite part, right? I’m sure it’s no surprise for anyone to hear that my go-to highlight is the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop which I’ve raved about on the blog before (review). It’s rosy golden hue compliments so many different skin tones and it’s finely milled formula leaves not a trace of chunky glitter in sight. The powder is silky smooth, applies like a dream and has become a must-have in my collection. Not a fan of rose gold? The runner up goes to Hourglass with their Ambient Lighting Palette which has three different shades (peach beige, pearlescent ivory, golden beige) to give you a subtle candlelit glow.

Setting Spray

This product is a new discovery of mine, and it’s the NYX Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray. I typically go for my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray when I want my makeup to stay on for hours, especially in the summer months, but once it’s been very cold out recently which can make the skin look dull and dry I’ve been loving this dewy spray to remedy that. A few spritzes of this and you’re ready to glow.
