After hearing Valerie talk about the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors last year, I knew I had to get my hands on them. The display was completely picked over when I went on a hunt for these, but I did manage to pick up two shades from the line. Devotion is the lightest out of the two, and it is such a beautiful rose colour. This is my favourite shade out of the two due to its everyday wearability. Addiction is a berry shade that packs a punch, and if you are a fan of bolder lips during A/W then this will be right up your alley.
When I first started to apply these I instantly noticed the smell of the product. It has this really nice, sweet candy smell to it which I personally don’t mind at all. The applicator is quite thin and flat, yet it has a rounded curve to it which is perfect as it mimics the shape of the lips nicely and distributes the product evenly. It’s really easy to define your cupids bow, or get into the inner corners easily so this applicator gets a thumbs up from me.
The formula glides on really easily, almost like a gloss, yet it doesn’t dry completely matte as you would assume. It does dry down a little bit over the course of a few minutes but it still leaves a slight glossy sheen to the lips afterwards. These do stay on for several hours before they start to wear off, and I haven’t had any issues with them wearing off unevenly or flaking off. These do leave behind a subtle stain, especially Addiction, but this lipcolor is very easy to remove with the camomile eye and lip makeup remover by The Body Shop.
Although these aren’t fully ‘matte’ as they market them, they are still a really great liquid lipstick that I have been loving recently. These are up there in terms of price at $10.99 CAD for the drugstore, but if you are wanting to try out liquid lipsticks for the first time or just want to expand your collection then these are easily accessible but they do have a limited colour selection. I really hope Revlon comes out with more shades in the future.
