Now I love my nude lipsticks, but in the Spring there’s nothing better than to add a pops of colour to your eyes, or lips. The drugstore has come out with some seriously gorgeous lip products so I picked a few up to share with you. Apparently I was digging the pink shades whilst shopping, so if you’re a fan of pink lips then read on!
First up is the NYC City Proof Twistable Crayon ($3.99 CAD) in Ballroom Blush. It’s a medium-dark pink colour and is super pigmented. Just a few swipes and you have a fully opaque colours. It’s very creamy, slides onto the lips really easily and has a nice glossy shine to it. It lasts such a long time on the lips and I haven’t had any issues with it moving around too much while wearing it.
Next is the Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Vivacious ($8.49 CAD). I’ve seen people talking quite a bit about these on Youtube along with the matte balms, but this colour in particular caught my eye so I picked it up. This one is isn’t as long lasting as the other shades because of its very glossy texture. It also doesn’t tend to stick to the lips as well so you have to build it up quite a bit. Love the colour though!
Rimmel has come out with some lip crayons recently as well and the one I grabbed was in Boom Chic A Boom ($5.99 CAD). This is the lightest pink out of the lip crayons and is absolutely stunning. It too has a glossy finish, is easy to apply and stains the lips. I find that it wears off in the center of my lips first and tends to bleed around the lip line. Being such a bright shade it definitely is high maintenance and I have to keep checking up on it to make sure it’s not moving around too much. It’s worth it since it’s such a stunning colour and I’ve had multiple people ask me while shopping what my lip colour is. Love it!
Last but certainly not least is a gloss by Revlon ($6.99 CAD). I heard that they reformulated the Super Lustrous line so I had to pick one up to see how I’d like it. It’s formula is tacky but not sticky so it will last a while on your lips. It isn’t crazy pigmented, but there is a decent amount of colour to it and makes your lips look really full and plum. I pair Pink Pop on top of Boom Chic A Boom from Rimmel and the two paired together and just a match made in heaven! On it owns it does tend cling to any dry patches on your lips so exfoliation is key with this gloss.
So those are my Spring drugstore picks! Lots of companies are coming out with the twistable crayons and I definitely like them for their ease of use. They are super glossy and glide easily onto the lips and are also really easy to touch up which I like!
