The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is a product that is taking the beauty world by storm, even more so now that they have released their Colour Correcting versions. It seems that you either have it in your collection already, or you are trying to get your hands on it which was my case. My shade was always sold out in stores but I finally was able to grab it online and waited anxiously for it to arrive so I could see if it was truly as amazing as everyone said it was.
The shade I grabbed was in Fair Neutral, which is the lightest they offer, for when I am not wearing any self-tanner. I really loved the packaging as well as the applicator as it was very flexible and easy to apply and spread out the product. The first thing I noticed when I applied this concealer for the first time was the smell. It smells just like paint – not exactly a good first impression and not something I had heard anyone mention before.
The smell was something I could live with, however, the coverage and formula was not. The Naked Skin Concealer has a very thick and drying consistency that makes your skin look very cakey and unnatural. I started to apply my makeup after my morning skincare routine and after placing this under my eyes I couldn’t believe how poorly it looked. For being a thicker concealer and marketed as complete coverage, it did nothing to conceal any darkness under my eyes and made the area look extremely dry. I also applied some onto some blemishes and had the same problem even exfoliating and moisturizing as I do every morning.
After hearing so many great things about this concealer and how well it worked for others, this product was sadly a let down for me. I was not a fan of the formula and how it accentuated any lines around the eyes and made anywhere I placed it look very dry. Unfortunately, this concealer just didn’t work for me and I didn’t find that it was worth the hype. I will definitely be sticking with my MAC Prolongwear Concealer.
Have you tried this concealer? How did it work for you?
